LOCATION:        10 South Wacker Drive, Chicago, IL

EDUCATION:       High school diploma or equivalent educational training

EXPERIENCE:       Minimum 5 years of related work experience, within a legal environment preferred.  Advanced word processing skills and advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.), DocXtools, CompareDocs, and DTE.  Familiarity with styles and numbering schemes. Excellent communication and proofreading skills, including familiarity with legal terminology, grammar rules, document formats, etc. Prior experience as an administrative assistant in the litigation area, preferred. Be well organized, able to prioritize and to work independently. Typing 55 wpm preferred.

DESCRIPTION:   Dykema, a leading national law firm, has an opening for an experienced Word Processor/Legal Administrative Assistant.  Word Processing duties will include: performing initial input and/or extensive typing, formatting, and revising of various practice groups’ large volume legal documents from handwritten notes or tapes utilizing Word and other software, creating forms, graphs, tables and merge documents; converting documents from PDF to Word or Excel; marking headings and citations, and generating table of contents and table of authorities; scanning and uploading documents; proofreading documents; and creating and revising PowerPoint presentations.  As time permits, will provide admin assistant support to various practice groups, primarily in Litigation, with duties including: E-Filing documents in various courts; inputting attorney time utilizing DTE; and performing other tasks as requested.
