DESCRIPTION:                Human Resources Manager Burke, Warren, MacKay & Serritella Primary Responsibilities: • Staff personnel matters - recruiting - Act as liaison between search firms and Firm - Screen all candidate resumes - Conduct initial interviews - Conduct testing if required - Conduct background check - Create and maintain job descriptions • Employee relations for secretarial/support staff - New employee orientations - Document completion, review of manuals and tour of facilities - Secretarial/support staff supervision - Coordinate performance evaluations and compensation recommendations - Arrange all timekeeper-to-secretary assignments - Staff counseling and discipline - Attendance record keeping - Manage secretarial overflow and overtime needs - Training - Implementing/maintaining HR policies & procedures - Labor law compliance - Payroll change orders • Benefits Administration - Act as liaison between insurance companies, brokers and Firm - Conduct benefits orientations - Conduct enrollments - Handle all benefits questions and changes - Reconcile and pay all insurance invoices - Manage unemployment claims - Handle transit program enrollments and monthly maintenance • Other tasks as assigned Qualifications: - Must be a working manager and advocate of team concept - Experienced in working with multiple levels of a professional organization - High energy level, comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Law firm experience preferred Send Resumes to opportunity@burkelaw.com

Prior law firm experience is required, as is some knowledge of benefits, FMLA, COBRA, etc. Reporting to the CHRO, this is a true generalist position, responsible for new hire orientation, assisting in onboarding of employees and benefits administration, running various reports using ADP, assisting with professional development program for the attorneys, etc. Prior experience with recruiting secretaries and managing secretaries is a plus, as this position will ultimately do both, as well as manage the annual review process for the secretaries.
