DESCRIPTION: Vedder Price is seeking an enthusiastic Human Resources Coordinator to join the dynamic HR team in their Chicago office. The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for providing day to day functional support in the firm’s Human Resources Department. The primary responsibilities of this position include: employment, recruitment, new hire orientation and onboarding, HRIS data entry and maintenance, and assisting with special HR projects as needed. Responsibilities:• Coordinates on-boarding processes including but not limited to completing new hire paperwork and checklists, coordinating new hire training schedules and development plans • Maintains job descriptions and posts open positions to various job boards, professional organizations and/or schools’ career centers
• Assists with updating and maintaining the recruitment and applicant tracking module in the HRIS database • Maintains employment data in HRIS database including entering new hires, status changes, departures, etc.• Assists with staff performance evaluation process

Human Resource Generalist

EXPERIENCE: 4-6 years of benefits administration experience is required
DESCRIPTION: 1. Conducts new-hire orientation, and works with the HR Assistant to ensure that all paperwork is received and processed accordingly. 2. Manages the performance evaluation process for all non-attorney staff, using ViDesktop. 3. Assists the CHRO in administering the continuing legal education program for the attorneys, including tracking CLE hours and generating certificates of attendance. 4. Maintains the firm’s Personnel Manual, and all department forms. 5. Benefits administration – working with the HR Assistant to enroll employees in benefits, terminate benefits, maintain current benefit forms, etc. 6. Responds to questions from employees on behalf of the HR department, requiring thorough understanding of all benefit programs and the firm’s policies and procedures. 7. Assists with recruiting and interviewing non-attorney staff. Places ads in various venues, screens resumes, schedules applicants, responds to applicants. 4. Develops standard job descriptions and position specifications for firm employees; ensures periodic review of job descriptions and position specifications. 5. Completes annual salary survey for the firm. 6. Generates quarterly bonus memos for attorneys, working closely with the Managing Partner to capture all changes and updates, etc. 7. Prepares an annual Summary of Benefits statement for all employees. 8. Processes invoices for the HR Department. 9. Runs various reports in support of the Finance and Marketing departments. 10. Assists Marketing with completing Requests for Proposals. 11. Completes various employment and salary surveys throughout the year. 12. Assists in the annual workers’ comp and 401(k) plan audits.
